Nexium is the drug used to treat ulcers. Nexium works by lessening the amount of acid that is produced within the stomach.

Nexium is the medicine that should be consumed as directed by the physician and with doctor’s advice only. It belongs to FDA pregnancy category B. Pregnant women are advised to consult their doctors prior to the consumption of this medicine. Patients have to consume nexium dosage one hour before meal.

Nexium precautions

If you are breast-feeding a baby, then before the consumption of this medicine you have to consult your doctor. One has to continue with his prescribed medication even if he or she finds some relief.

Before the start of this medicine, your doctor should know if you are consuming any of these medicines:

* Digoxin
* Itraconazole
* Nizoral

Side effects of drug nexium

Common side effects of nexium that one may experience are:

* Headache
* Diarrhea
* Dry mouth
* Abdominal pain or constipation
* Nausea

Emergency medical treatment is required; if you experience any allergic Nexium reactions like closing of the throat, swelling of lips, and difficulty in breathing.
