AminoMax from Nutrina

Nutrina’s AminoMax is a mixture of 21 pure amino acids complex. Because most of the 21 amino acids are needed to form tissue in the body, all could be termed as “essential” to health. There are however, seven amino acids that cannot be formed by the body and are thus referred to as the “essential amino acids.”

These must be supplied for the diet and include lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, valine, leucine, and isoleucine. The value of any protein depends on the quantity and balance of essential amino acids it contains.

Protein makes up nearly seventy-five percent of the body’s tissues. Various combinations of amino acids link together into polypeptide chains to help form thousands of proteins. Amino acids are thus known as the “building blocks” of protein.

When the body digests protein, enzymes break down the substance into amino acids which are then absorbed through the intestinal walls. After entering the bloodstream, they are carried to all body cells. The cells use amino acids to construct the new protein of living tissue where needed. The liver, nerves, brain, cartilage, digestive tract, and kidneys are all made up of protein-structured cells. Amino acids must be available in the bloodstream to produce such proteins.

Protein in body tissues can “wear out.” Without a constant supply of amino acids, replacement material for these tissues is not available. The body compensates for a lack of protein by drawing heavily on the amino acid pool in the bloodstream. As this pool is depleted, replenishment can occur only at the expense of breaking down tissue.

Muscle tissue will be broken down first, then the protein of vital organs such as the heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys. Maintaining rich amino acid pools is therefore vital to the health of protein hungry tissues throughout the body.

Protein has additional functions apart from the growth and repair of tissues. Enzymes, vital to numerous biochemical processes, are made up of protein. Enzymes make possible the transport of substances in the blood, the digestive process, and the excretion of waste products in the kidneys.
